This week for maths team tui are learning to identify different types of angles in a circle. We had used a protractor to help us draw the angles which we had found easy. When we had finished naming all the angles we used canva to create a poster so we can share our learning. In the end i had fun learning about the different angles that can be found in an angle .
Last week for writing we had done figurative language. We had worked in groups to define the meaning of each word before we went on our own to identify the structure.
This week for maths we are working around the topic of lengths or distances . For today we had decided to start off easy and measured a shapes perimeter. We had to join in a group of three and my group consisted of Mokoia, Pasimati and myself. For this we had to draw a shape that closed. To measure this shape we had used flax that was thin enough we can bend it around the curve. Once we measured the length we had ruled out the distance we had created. The measurement we had rounded up to was 34.5 cm and 345 mm.
This week Team Tui had been working with compasses this week. We had used the compass to create circles that soon had made art. Mr Raj
had given us an example on how we use the compass. Here is my example.
For cyber smart this week we had to buddy up and collaborate with our buddy. We had 2 task to do and the task were tic tac toe and write a story were we said one word each to create a story.
Today Team Tui learnt what X-y axis is. I learnt how to put points on the graph. X-y axis is tells you about coordinates. We had also learnt how reflect it.
In Team Tui we had decided to do art related to Matariki. Room 11 had chosen to do abstract. This art was to do with our big focus on Matariki. For this piece of art we were needed to chose 3 of the Matariki stars and draw what they connect or associate with and my 3 stars
This Morning in Team Tui we had played a game called password. The game is where four people gather together and partner up. Two people will sit down while their partners at the back along with the rest of the team will be able to see the word and the partners will have to give one worded hints for the persons to guess the word. When they put the hints together and guess the word hey swap around and do the same.
Earlier this week Team Tui started their learning on Matariki.Team Tui’s focus for the last couple of days was to learn on the history of Matariki. For Writing this week we had to write poems on our senses and the stars of Matariki. For my poem I had chosen the senses Felt, heard and seen along with the stars Ururangi, Wai-puna-rangi and Waita. My poems describe my experience since my childhood days.
